Nathaniel Gopen – Founder & Head of Property Management

Nathaniel is a fourth generation real estate professional, certified realtor, and Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Certified Property Manager.
Nate got his start in real estate in 2013, by buying and self-managing a multifamily home in Chelsea. As he ventured deeper into the world of property management, he soon realized that there were a lot of problems with the “big” property management firms in the Greater Boston Area—and he saw an opportunity to change this by creating MerGo with his cofounder, Lucas.
In the following years, Nate played a significant role in growing MerGo into a major player in Boston property management. In 2019, he oversaw 1,500 maintenance issues, collected $3.75 million in rent from over 150 doors, and managed over $3 million in renovation and construction work on MerGo properties.
Nate prides himself on being different than the average property manager. He has spent years testing the best ways to run a property management firm for both owners and tenants, and his results speak for themselves.
For both owners and tenants, he runs their properties as if they were his own business by scrutinizing costs, utilizing the best technology, and staying up to date on property management laws and trends, as well as always being customer service focused. He is honest and transparent with his tenants, working hard to ensure their needs are met quickly and that problems are solved correctly the first time.
Lucas Merchant – Founder & Head of Brokerage

With over a decade of experience across nearly all aspects of real estate, Lucas uses his depth of knowledge to provide advice, guidance, and results for his clients. He prides himself on building strong relationships with both buyers and sellers, then using his expert negotiating skills to deliver results above and beyond what his clients previously thought possible.
Having structured hundreds of unique deals, Lucas is able to think out of the box and find inventive solutions for his clients, no matter the situation. His wide variety of skill sets—including rentals, sales, property management, vacation rentals, investment, and lending—equip him to handle any residential real estate transaction.
Lucas began his real estate career in the rental niche, handling over 400 rental transactions in the Greater Boston Area. He then moved on to Berkshire Hathaway, where he now closes over $15 million per year in sales and ranks in the top 2% of Berkshire Hathaway Agents in the U.S. – making him a part of the Chairman’s Circle.
With an in-house brokerage team, MerGo is able to help their clients with every step of the process, from buying a property to turning it into a passive investment. Lucas’s experience with property management gives him a full understanding of both sides of the market, which ultimately provides a valuable asset to his sales clients.

Pat – Customer Service Operations Manager
Coming from an extensive background in customer service (in other words, you know she’ll treat your tenants well!), Pat is here full-time to handle all tenant communication, maintenance facilitation, and scheduling.
Claudia is MerGo’s full-time cleaner, specializing in detailed work and going above and beyond to make sure each apartment is clean and ready for the next tenant. She also works to maintain all common areas at the properties we manage. Her team is very consistent in its performance, which is something the MerGo Group and its clients value highly.
Marcio – Head of Maintenance
Marcio, MerGo’s Head of Maintenance, handles an entire crew of construction workers, electricians, plumbers, and carpenters ready to help your tenants and improve your properties as needed. There is no job, regardless of size, that Marcio and his team can’t handle!
Lorean – Bookkeeper
Lorean has extensive expertise in property management software and bookkeeping and therefore handles all bank reconciliations, rental income, and accounts payable and receivables.
